Scrabble Tile Pendant Tutorial

I love scrabble tile pendants. My collage sheets are perfect for making beautiful pendants. I get a lot of questions on what paper to use? what printer to use?? So I am going to show you how I make a scrabble tile necklace with special tips for getting quality pendants.

First a Shopping list......
One Fab Digital Collage Sheet for Scrabble tiles from Cupcake Cutiees...
You need to print them with a inkjet printer on Photo Glossy Paper *this gives a super clean sharp image*
Wooden Scrabble Tile
Flat Back Bails *you can now find these at any craft or hobby store..Hobby Lobby..Joanns*
Clear Nail Polish *Sally Hansen Advanced with Nylon works AWESOME*
Diamond Glaze
E6000 *or strong glue to glue your bail on pendant*

1. Print your collage sheet on 8.5 X 11 at 300 dpi on photo glossy paper with a inkjet printer... I am using Apple for Teacher in scrabble size digital collage sheet found in my shop here

2. This is the trick. Inkjets will bleed ink all over the place with your diamond glaze. It turns in to a globby mess. I use clear nail polish right on the page to prevent images from bleeding. Coat your paper and let dry...

You can see here how the tile used with nail polish is sealed and shines.

3. Cut out your image and use your diamond glaze as a glue to attach to the wooden tile...

4. Coat the top with diamond glaze. Diamond Glaze is great for clear top coat. I have used just the nail polish a couple of coats and it looks awesome without the glaze. The nail polish doesn't yellow with it either. I have some for around five years that still looks awesome.... In the picture sample. You will see the one on the left has a cloudy appearance. This is the glaze and takes hours to dry. The Nail polish a hour to dry...

5. Let dry completely. Make sure to dry in between steps. Lastly add some E6000 to the back of your bail and attach. Let dry overnight.

You then will have your beautiful crisp Scrabble Tile Pendant......
